Ms. Laura Hart needs help desperately. Detective Penner, amazed and bewildered, wants to help, probably. A riff on classic noir films, Propositions plays the same scene over, shifting like a jazz solo. It questions the archetypes gifted to us, the people inside them, and the performers that enable the images presented in pop culture. Who is accountable, and who is complicit?
